Title: As the Present Now will Later be Past

Author: Caroline-Shea
Beta: The absolutely amazing pushplaytobegin Seriously, seriously. She single-handedly dragged me across the finish line on this one, cheerleading and con-critting and beating multiple parts of this story into submission. Every single draft of this fic - starting from what she and I fondly refer to as "the alien doppleganger version" - was made better by her feedback and input. I LOVE YOU, PPB!!!
Artist: The utterly fantastic dearthursday. She designed some of the most gorgeous graphics I've ever seen. I basically wept with joy when I saw them. Thank you, thank you, thank you, sweetie!! PLEASE TELL NINA HOW MUCH SHE ROCKS!!!
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 26,067
Pairings: Kurt/Blaine; OMC/OMC; OMC/OFC; OMC/OMC. I know how that looks, but please don't be frightened off.
Warnings: Strong elements of homophobia; Mentions of off-screen homophobic violence; Off-screen death of OC; Brief mention of suicidal thoughts
Summary: Blaine and Kurt's deepening relationship dredges up some painful memories from Blaine's father's past. The fall-out affects not only Blaine's relationship with his dad, but his relationship with Kurt and his understanding of himself. Title taken from the Bob Dylan song: The Times They Are A-Changin.'

I read this story in one swallow and I can't say enough as to how perfect it was. The punch at the end is absolutely haunting. I loved how when we thought we understood -- indeed your opening reveals so very much. We still didn't really get it until the end. It was one of those that left me wishing that I'd written it. One of those keepers I know I'll read again. Smart and emotional and honest.

Bravo on this one!!

I desperately wanted to read this all at once, but as this is the first story to truly reduce me to tears, I had to pause. I did finally finish it and, while I love leaving reviews, I rarely do it anymore unless I feel like I need to say something- and I do.

This story is so intense, well-written, beautiful, and raw that I couldn't *not* comment on it. In fact, I made a Live Journal account just so I could tell you that this story is phenomenal. I'm definitely recommending it to my fellow Klaine-shippers and you can count on me reading it again. Possibly several times.

I bow to you for your amazing creation. This story is an eye-opener.

Absolutely Beautiful
Wow. I am really beyond words. The story was heartbreaking, and the depth and richness of your writing kept it so real. I felt the same as the author of one of the earlier comments: when I reached the point that they were celebrating marriage equality in the 'future' I felt a rush of both joy and sadness. Joy because it came so much sooner, and sadness that it does not mean that fear and danger are over. But one step forward, right? I would love to see your stuff on AOO if possible, as it is nicely searchable and has good update features, but of course you likely spend all of your time writing and in 'real life' so adding a site would be asking a lot. Definitely don't want to distract you from writing! Best, Hippocampus
